HARVEY LAWRENCE

Hi, I’m Harvey Lawrence, a passionate Level Designer with a First-Class Honours degree in Games Design from the University of Staffordshire. I have a strong passion for level design and evnronment design, I specialise in crafting realistic, immersive environments that enhance gameplay and fully engage players.

 

My primary tool is Unreal Engine, where I bring my ideas to life through detailed world-building and thoughtful gameplay flow. That said, I’m a fast learner and highly adaptable, having picked up and worked with a range of engines and tools including Unity, Hammer Editor, and EUFN efficiently when projects have required it.

 

Whether i'm designing atmospheric worlds, creating compelling level layouts, designing engaging gameplay spaces, or fine-tuning player progression, my goal is to always deliver polished, purposeful, and memorable gameplay experiences that feel impactful, purposeful, and most importantly fun.

LEVEL DESIGN

Portal 2 Laser Chamber

Portal 2 level focused on lasers. 

 A custom Portal 2 level consisting of three interconnected test chambers. The goal was to create a learning-driven experience that gradually introduced players to core mechanics, with a strong focus on the laser (thermal discouragement beam) system.

Environmental Level Design

Slyce

Cinematic focused on environmental storytelling.

Slyce tells a story of a Russian sub terranean lab that simulates slices of the earth so they can scan for important information related to specific people they are searching for.
